Losing a loved one is never easy. We want to make the process of filing an insurance or annuity claim as simple as possible. Our online resources make it easy to submit a claim and stay informed during the process.

The claims process

Caring for beneficiaries is important to us. A claim may be started online or via phone, and we will be with them throughout the process.
Start a claim
Check a claim status
Notify us
Begin a claim online to easily start the process. We'll need the beneficiary's information as well as the deceased's name, policy number or SSN, dates of birth/death, cause/manner of death and country of death. A claim packet will then be mailed to the beneficiary. For questions, please call us at 1-800-424-1592.
File a claim
Once the claim packet arrives, the beneficiary provides the required information. This generally includes a certified copy of the death certificate and beneficiary identification documents. Beneficiaries can check the claims status online after it's filed.
Receive funds
As soon as we've received all necessary documentation and the claim is approved, we will send out the benefit payment within one business day.
Request financial counseling
After the beneficiary receives their benefit payment, we recommend they work with their financial professional or Protective for resources to assist them with important financial decisions.*
